What I’m proud of in Science Class

In science class, we were learning about circuits and electricity. Our teacher told us we had to think of a place like a house, restaurant, store etc. then, we come up with a schematic that will involve at least 3 working lights, a motor, a buzzer and a safety switch that’ll turn everything off at once.

We got chosen random partners to work on this and our idea was an disco party kind of theme so we planned that we would use the motor as a disco ball by putting some foil on the motor, having 3 lights on each side of a cardboard box that we would get, and a buzzer.

It took us lots of editing and reforming to find a schematic that would work. When we got our box things didn’t go as planned in our schematic and some wires were connected to the wrong spot so we had to look back at our schematic and see what went wrong and fix it.

We also had 2 weeks to complete this but we didn’t have science class everyday so we just had a couple of classes to do the wiring and complete the project.

Once we finally had the wires in place and everything was working including all of the switches we had to decorate. We made a disco ball out of foil and put it on the motor, we colored a dance floor for the bottom. We planned on doing lots of more decor but we ran out of time since the electrical wiring took most of the time so it doesn’t look the best but it works.

This is a video of our project

the sad part was were we had to destroy all our word work at the end and put back all the materials. 🙁

this was overall a very fun project and took lots of thinking!
